Jonathan Ive, Senior VP Industrial Design at Apple describing the design process of the Mac Book. His explanation drives home the point of designing with a sense of purpose. I believe this can and should be applied to software designs as well.

Apple airport express's join a wireless network feature
I can see many of you go “HUH?!” looking at the title of this post… You are not alone, because this is an undocumented feature of Apple Airport Express (AE). Quite a handy one too. For the longest time I was looking for a way to share my wife’s laser printer over the network. The closest I got to was to create another wireless network with the AE and connect the printer to the USB …
Ignorance is your loss
Last week I got my credit card out to buy few applications from the apple app store for my iPod Touch. But I didn't!! Most of the applications I wanted did not have the support for Metric unit system! It is absolutely shocking that most American iPhone application developers didn't bother or too ignorant to realize that the rest of the world have moved on with the metric unit system. US is pretty much the …
What!?
On the way back from Holy land trip to Israel I got myself a shiny new 16GB iPod Touch. More like an early birthday present from my better half… It was love at first sight! I love the sleek looking interface and easy of syncing with iTunes. Controls are much more intuitive as compared to my old Creative Zen. But… I just found out that if you want to play a video podcast you need to navigate to …
Mac-Zen woes

Only ray of hope is this software I found called XNJB. It does not sync but you can add/remove stuff from Zen. Hardly an elegant solution… So with this news, I have 2 choices… Succumb to the “Apple Monopoly” …
Zen Vision:M undocumented how to & tips
Creative is below par when it comes to explaining the real capability of Zen Vision:M player. The user manuals are NOT very helpful either. Like iPod, Zen does not have the "All" option to play all the songs from a particular artist or an Album. I was really annoyed by this fact. But today I stumbled upon a creative forum post which explains how to do this and whole bunch of other things! Here are some …
I have been Ztumped
I’m now a proud owner of a Creative Zen Vision:M player. For those who do not know what I am talking about… Zen Vision is the iPod video’s nemesis. Zen gives you value for your money! It cost me A$ 310 (a whole $40 cheaper than iPod 30GB Video) and it has an inbuilt Radio and Voice Recorder. Plus it plays most of your videos (XVID, DIVX, MP4 etc, etc). So no need to worry about …
